Inspiration of Sun-Kissed Morning.

My goal or purpose with figurative sculpture is to capture an emotional feeling in the wood sculpture. Real people (as to AI generated) can tell a story with a posture or look.

What I want to do is show the emotion and let the viewer read their own story with the piece and how they relate to it.

Sun-Kissed Morning is the pleasant feeling of walking before dawn in reflection.

Woods used:

Natural woods were used in the sculpture to enhance the natural tones and hues.

Wide Brim Hat, inspired by the Stetson Batterson, was created with Bloodwood.

Figurative, Mixture of Aspen and Alder. Both kinds of wood are soft and easy to work with. The contrast of the two woods creates an interesting piece.

Artist Statement:

My main aspiration when creating figurative and abstract art is to stimulate the breath of life both in me and the viewer. Occasionally, I see a certain reflection or feeling in an art piece I created that echoes what I was experiencing at the time. I enjoy the outdoors, especially in the forest. I like to spend time outside to keep fresh with new ideas and themes for that next art piece.
